The Travelling Bookbinder: Condé Nast Traveller: March 2023

Wowee what a dream to be in Condé Nast Traveller this month!

Travel journalist Giovanna Dunmall interviewed me for the Perspectives section, which uncovers “passion projects and personal tales.”

Issue 292 lists the locations it features on the spine; from Fiji to Kyoto, Bhutan to Tel Aviv…and Iona!

The article describes my creative (and romantic) journey through books to the Inner Hebrides.

As I am convinced that everybody has a book in them, the more people I can inspire the better. Much to my delight, my how-to guide Bound:15 Beautiful Bookbinding Projects, has reached far and wide.

Here’s hoping this feature will encourage further creativity with paper, ink and imaginative travel.

Huge thanks to Giovanna Dunmall, Condé Nast Traveller, The Corner Shop, Sarah Mason Film & Photography and Susan Bell.

  1. I was delighted to find a copy of Bound on our local library shelves, all the way down here in Te Wai Pounamu / South Island of Aotearoa / NZ 🙂
